I only rate the installation badly because I put it on the bow of the boat. They look amazing and I love that I can change the color and brightness. To install on the boat and route the wires below deck I had to cut the ends and solder them back together. The ends are large flat plugs that are as wide as two Lightning connectors side by side. After I routed and reconnected the cables, everything worked beautifully. If you've had a straight run with no drilling, installation is easy. There's a ridiculous number of buttons on the remote - I prefer simpler, it works well. The brightness can be adjusted on the remote control, it glows very well in the dark.
