Bracket removed, hole saw used on power drill, inserted directly into motorcycle fender (see photo). Be careful not to overtighten the plastic nut on the back of the cylinder. Use blue Loctite on the carving. Used it on my first trip after installation. If you did not use the supplied fuse plug, put a fuse holder (10 ampere) in series. Also, it's built into the ignition, so even though I used a switch I don't have to worry about it killing my battery if I forget to press the switch that comes with it. Blue light does not dazzle and does not distract. My son installed it and had it for a while so far it seems like a good product. He used a mounting plate in his setup.
