Review on Mapamyumco Men's Waterproof Stretch Light Rain Jacket - Breathable & Windproof, with Hood - Raincoat by Travis Vasquez

Good fit, well made.

I have several high quality branded windcheaters/raincoats in different materials and strengths for different weather conditions and circumstances. I wanted to see how this jacket compares. The first thing that struck me was how well this jacket is made. The fabric is nice and dense, the seams and seams are excellent. It has an inner mesh material that lines most of the inside of the jacket but has no padding. So keep that in mind. The outer shell material is soft, flexible and has some stretch, rather than stiff and rigid like Gore-Tex, making it much more comfortable to wear around town than everyday wear. I ran it under cold water to make sure the DWR performance was good too. I can't yet comment on how well it performs in a heavy downpour, but I suspect this jacket is not designed for prolonged outdoor use in a heavy downpour. The adjustable hood can be removed if necessary. and all the zips seem nice and secure as they are fastened with a rubber tab that closes the zips and helps keep water and wind out when zipped up. I love that each zipper has an extended "tab" that makes it easy to "open" and "close" even when wearing gloves. A HUGE plus point of this jacket, unique to my hard shells, is the zipped pockets! Brilliant! This allows me to release some of that warmth when I need it. I'm 5ft 8" - 9" tall and can fluctuate between 130 and 145 pounds fairly easily. I requested "small" and it fits perfectly. It has a good length and proportion that suits me. The style is quite "classic", there is nothing superfluous, which I like. Overall I think this jacket is great for the price. It protected well from the wind when I took it to high altitudes where it was quite windy all day. Just remember to wear something with insulation underneath if it gets cold.
