I have four large knives that I use regularly when cooking. Neither of these matched my other two standard wooden knife racks, so I was looking for a way to keep them off the counter. This knife block looks great, fits my stainless steel utensils, and comfortably holds all of my knives (including a very long bread knife). There are four in total (you can fit a few more), I keep them apart so the blades don't touch or rub against each other. The only downside is the bottom doesn't come off which makes cleaning difficult, but I put my knives away neatly so it shouldn't be a big deal.
