Review on LOHAS Changing LED Christmas Decoration by Kevin Taharka

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked fine for 1 week - maybe good for starters with

I bought two packs of 4 bulbs (8 bulbs total) so my grandma could voice control the lights in her apartment with her Alexa device. I am returning all 8 pears. The setup is standard, especially when it comes to Alexa (download their app, turn on the lights, let it pair with the parent app, turn on the skill in the Alexa app and find devices). The setting didn't always work right away. Two out of 8 bulbs had trouble pairing with the company's app (had to try each problematic bulb at least 3 times). You need to connect the lights to a 2.4GHz WiFi network as they are not compatible with 5GHz (and a 2.4/5GHz network like AT&T likes to push us). It took a few tries for the Alexa app to recognize these devices, even the lightbulbs that originally paired with the parent app with no problem. So they're Alexa compatible, but it's not easy and it takes patience to get to the voice control aspect. One of the 8 bulbs categorically refused to be controlled by the Alexa app. Within 1 week 2 other bulbs stopped working with voice control. Now I only have 5 out of 8 lightbulbs that work with voice control. I gave up trying to get 3 blown lightbulbs to work with Alexa. These lamps still work with the switch, but that wasn't the purpose of this purchase. In short, these are cheap lightbulbs for those who are just getting started with smart home or for those who are unsure about investing in a smart home. you still Just be aware that they may not work. Also remember that when it comes to a smart home, "what you pay for is what you get”. This purchase was for my grandma because she loves all my smart home stuff. I always buy more expensive products from better reputable companies and have never had this problem. For example, the instructions that come with this product are good, but I've seen better ones in terms of instructions and troubleshooting help.

Pros
  • app and voice control: LOHAS Smart Bulb works with Alexa, Google Home and Apple Siri. Control your smart bulb as a group with voice commands to turn the light on or off. After connecting to the app via Wi-Fi, you can control the light from anywhere.
