Really exceeded our expectations for a Graco product

We bought the Graco MySize65 to replace our previous Chicco KeyFit30 car seat for our 18 month old as he has passed his 30" maximum height and we didn't actually have very high expectations for this car seat, mainly because we were prejudiced that Graco is a cheap brand based on our research into buying an infant carrier when our son was born and the build quality we were between two two models saw. The biggest advantage of Graco MySize65 for us was its versatility and attractive price, so it was worth it. And my goodness, we underestimated the build quality of this Graco car seat - it's a lot better than we thought and competes with Britax or Chicco im Worth over $300 when it comes down to build quality and fabrics. Materials. --------- ----- This was the biggest surprise for us, my wife and I were really amazed at how good the car seat was when we first unpacked it - from its hard plastic base with metal reinforcement carcass to its premium fabrics and size. comfortable seating area with thick cushions for your enjoyment. Everything about this car seat defies its price and is unlike anything we've seen from Graco before.- The fabric used has a soft, high-quality feel, with thick padding all around to keep your baby comfortable for long periods of time. Our son loves to fall asleep in it and that tells us a lot - Newborn inserts, adjustable headrest and recline mechanism all feel great, soft and work with a reassuring click - Thoughtful features like pockets to hold buckles/harness when sitting or taking your child with you, neat storage spaces for LATCH anchors and Top Tether anchors, an easy-to-remove wash cover greatly increases the practicality of this car seat ------------------ We are currently using the rear-facing child seat and based on our experience with Chicco: the horns, while reasonable, are not as simple and reliable as the Chicco mechanism. You have to spend some time reading the manual to figure out how to secure it and then a bit of chugging and chugging in the car to get it up to the right level (took me a few tries to get it right) . LATCH system. There's certainly some margin for error here, so I'd recommend taking extra precautions to properly secure the seat. For newborns/infants, the error is even smaller, as shown by the range of the "newborn" level on the seat. You may need to use towels (also mentioned in the instructions) to adjust the seat to the correct range for newborns. Installing a car seat in a face-to-face configuration is comparatively easier with the help of the seat belts and top straps. Disadvantages-------- As mentioned before, special care is needed when installing the car seat, there may be a little play or error. Passengers in a 5 seater vehicle (even for my large GMC Terrain SUV) Final thoughts ----- Overall, the Graco MySize 65 completely revolutionized our idea of what to expect from a Graco product, and it has definitely in excess of its weight when it comes to build quality, comfort and fabric materials that offer exceptional value for money. My only recommendation to you is to spend some time reading the manual to make sure it's protected properly. 5 Stars .
