That's a long story (sorry!). I wanted to give this phone a 5 because I like it for so many reasons. However, our Swissphone stopped working after about 2 months of use. We knew we would be moving out of state in a few months, so we decided to work things out and fix the issue once it was settled. After the move, we didn't have a landline phone for almost a year. Until then, the guarantee probably wouldn't do us much good. With that in mind, we decided to see if we could solve the problem - maybe it would be something we could fix. Here's what we found: the battery was fine; he just didn't get charged. We tested for continuity to isolate the problem and determined that the source of the problem is the electronic circuit board located under the power supply cover. (Remember, removing this cover will kill any hope of manufacturer support! ha). Why does it have to work for a few months and then "puff"? We use surge protectors on all of our electronics, so I tend to think the connection on the PCB is weak to begin with. Therefore, the only solution is to buy a replacement power supply.
