Helped me out of my predicament

I had a problem in my home theater with occasional flashing images. At first I thought my Panasonic PT-AE4000 projector was defective, especially since the lens memory function never worked. After some research online, I decided my HDMI cable was too long (about 30 feet) and I was having HDMI jump. There are several HDMI amplifiers on the market but Tripp Lite has a good reputation and I found this product to be the best so I decided to give it a try. I plugged it into the projector end of the long cord, ran a short two foot cord from the extension cord to the projector, and plugged in the power adapter. Nothing. No video at all. I checked the poorly written justification for the manual but it didn't help. That's when I decided to play around with the equalizer adjustment switch. It was originally set to 0 so I changed it to 1. Still nothing. Nothing for 2 or 3. Suddenly returned in 4 videos. Out of curiosity, I went through the rest of the settings. 5 and 6 worked, 7 and more didn't work. I didn't notice any difference between the pictures at 4-6 so I decided to keep it at 5. Gaps are gone and images look noticeably sharper than before. In addition, the projector's lens memory function now works properly. There are 2 issues that make it impossible for me to rate this booster 5 stars. First, useless guide. No explanation of what the equalizer settings do or how to find the best one. Second, I still have problems when trying to send 1080p/24 video to the projector. My guess is that the amp doesn't support 1080p/24, but neither the manual nor the Tripp Lite website says anything about it.
