Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ SANOXY Laptop Notebook Cool Pad: Enhance Performance with Portable Cooling by Shaun Helm

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Big fans. The design of the cooler housing is a bit clunky.

January 2011: I needed a cooler for my MSI gaming laptop that runs graphics intensive games very warm. I chose this one because it has three fans and is cheap. It worked great, but it's a very clumsy physical design. It's too thick and the rubber feet are uncomfortable. I use my laptop 90% of the time on a mobile laptop stand with wooden surfaces. I removed three fans from the cooler, cut three holes in the laptop stand, installed the fans under the holes, broke the cooler apart, and used the two taller legs to support the laptop's screen. The fans have been running flawlessly for over two years and this is my best cooler. August 2012: I bought a second cooler which is perfect for the HP DV7t-7000 which I bought in July 2012. The new HP is known to get pretty hot when gaming, but the cooler handles well. June 2013: I replaced the MSI laptop mentioned above with an HP DV6-7014 which gets very hot when playing games. The fans do their job to make sure everything is cool enough. The original cooler from 2009 still works great. It has already outlived three others I went through a few years ago. I'm ordering a third one for use with my old MSI gaming laptop set up as a TV recording and playback system in my living room. It will be on a shelf with a cable box, BlueRay and VCR, so it needs good cooling. This cooler is almost inaudible so should do well in this role. Because of the great fans and despite the chunky design, I changed my rating to 5 stars.
