Review on ☕ Zojirushi EC-YTC100XB Coffee Maker: Premium Stainless Steel/Black 10-Cup Brewer by Savannah Williams

UPDATE TWO WEEKS LATER - Still waiting for a 'decision' on the 'warranty' to send me a new decanter lid. They guard it like their entire quarterly profit is at stake. If you're looking for a coffee maker that you can pour over your counter and floor, there are plenty of options for $50. There's no point in buying a car for $200. Sitting here at the 60 day mark. And a few copies with coffee on the counter and on the floor. First it was great, coffee stayed warm all night which seemed good. Recently, however, it has started to overflow through the carafe lid. After some troubleshooting I came to the conclusion that the problem is in the decanter lid. The overflow was the reason I dropped my previous cheaper coffee maker and I was NOT expecting this from a $200 coffee maker. Contacted support and got a sluggish response. After confirming that they had brewed a pot of water, they returned and quoted it verbatim to me, but deigned to send me a new lid out of the grace of their hearts. ZOJIRUSHI expressly excludes all non-electrical/mechanical attachments, accessories and consumables from this warranty. These items may include, but are not limited to, a carafe, carafe stopper, filter basket, swivel basket, etc. "I used to believe (until now) that Zojirushi was a niche boutique brand of specialty electronics. with a Japanese level of quality, given my travels in Japan and the spread of the brand there. Apparently they export branded goods to the states there and import cheaper Chinese goods with guarantee protection. They probably need to reconsider their strategy and buy this coffee maker for under $100 to do justice to the quality. Any part that can cause relatively catastrophic damage to surrounding items in the kitchen (including tablecloths, etc.) must be reliable enough to clearly ensure their coverage and not make a problem out of it. Purchase at your own risk.
