Good solution with some features

Bought and installed this week. Overall I'm happy with them, but there are a few things to note. First, the questions and answers are a bit confusing. It is important to note that the version offered here comes with a base base cut off. The original Kickstarter version had a backup battery and artificial intelligence for things like facial recognition. This version does NOT support ANY of them, and it doesn't look like adding a backup battery is an option at all. The Q&A might lead you to believe that the only difference is the level of water resistance, but that's not the case. On the positive side, the image quality is really excellent in both day and night mode. Much better than my Ring Pro doorbell which doesn't handle bright light very well. Installation was quick and easy, although as it's a Category 5 wired connection (no Wi-Fi), placing the base may be a challenge for some. I really like the promise of long battery life between charges. Time will tell if they keep their promises. NEUTRAL: The app is good, not as good as Ring. The basics are there, but it doesn't include things like motion zones (important if you want to rule out something like a waving flag or a swaying branch). Movement planning is limited. Cloud storage is currently unavailable, should be available soon. It stores locally on the underlying base. VERSUS. No backup battery on base, no way to add one. base base area. The cameras connect to the base station, not to your WiFi router. Just because your router can cover your entire house/property doesn't mean it can do the same. For many large or even medium sized homes, covering all your cameras can be a challenge. Luckily most of the rooms I have are category 5 so I was able to find a central place to connect most of the time, albeit not on the ground floor. If I were limited to just connecting to a router, that would be really bad. I had to play around with the night vision mount. Anything too close seemed to confuse IR. Overall, this is a good choice if range isn't an issue. What disappointed me the most was the truncated base.
