I bought this for my stubborn chihuahua puppy boy. Now he is one year old, weighs 10 kg. I tried that tone first and he heard it but it didn't change his behavior. I then went to the Vibration setting at 90. He doesn't like vibration and this setting works well. I only had to shock him 3 times because he was so focused on chasing the goats next door that he ran through the vibration. I had an attitude for 20 and he really didn't like it. If necessary, you can quickly and easily switch from vibration to discharge. The battery charge lasts a long time. I only charge it intermittently so it never died on me. If he's not wearing a collar, I always turn it off. The remote control will turn off automatically if not used for a certain period of time. Even if the collar comes off at this point and I put it on him, it makes him a different dog and more obedient because he knows there will be a vibration if he's not listening.
