I ordered this holder despite reading bad reviews that neither a large tape measure nor utility knife would fit. As might be expected, the authors of these reviews failed to realize that, like many leather tool holders, one must gently soak the holder in warm water for 30 minutes and then insert the dipstick and knife into the appropriate slots until the leather is dry. . I used a Stanley Powerlock 25ft tape measure and a Lutz utility knife and they fit like gloves and are easy to put on and take off. I have many Occidental Leather products and they are all 5 star quality and work exactly as described.
