I bought this product because our cat was lounging outside in our vintage car which was covered with a soft tarp. This is a convertible and the cat will use the roof of the car as a scratching post. The cover tore open at four corners and threatened to ruin the top of the convertible. We knew we needed a solution. I bought this mat, stuck it on the double sided tape on the roof of the car. Then I set it to high volume and maximum shock level. It worked like a dream and I liked that it was battery operated and had no cords. I love the fact that it had nothing to do with me physically. The cat's shock association was the car, not me. Now she doesn't approach the car at all. I will be using this for puppy/furniture training in the future.
