I don't need anything extraordinary. My speakers on my PC didn't sound loud enough for me. I didn't want a fancy sound, I was just looking for something I could plug in and play that wouldn't hurt my ears. This one does exactly that. Right now I can turn it on when I want to watch a video and turn it off when I don't need it. The sound worked well for me, but as I said, I wasn't looking for a high level. I don't care about bass etc as long as I can hear and understand what is being said I'm fine. They were also comfortable for me, which is rare as I have nerve damage and often hurt my ears, but these weren't. For me cheaper was better.
