GEECR Bore Scope Camera: A Mixed Bag of Features

As a gun enthusiast, I have always wanted a bore scope camera to inspect my firearms. The GEECR 5Mm Rigid Rifle Bore Scope Camera caught my attention, primarily because of its USB connectivity feature that allows me to connect it to my Android phone, Windows, or Mac. The addition of a solid scale and side mirror also piqued my interest. The product arrived promptly, and the packaging was secure, with the camera safely nestled inside a foam cushion. Despite the compact size, the build quality felt sturdy and robust. The setup process was a breeze, and I was pleased to see that the device came with software to view the live video feed via USB on my computer. However, the camera's image quality was underwhelming. The 5mm diameter lens was too small to capture a clear image, and the resolution was only 480p. The solid scale left me underwhelmed, with markings that weren't easy to decipher. The side mirror, though a useful addition, wasn't adjustable enough to provide a comprehensive view of the barrel. Overall, the GEECR Bore Scope Camera is a mixed bag. While it offers useful features like USB connectivity and a side mirror, the image quality and solid scale didn't meet my expectations. For its price point, there are better options out there.

Pros
  • Solid Scale and Side Mirror: The inclusion of a solid scale and side mirror provides added precision and convenience when using the camera. The scale allows you to measure the depth of any issues or imperfections in your gun barrel, while the side mirror enables you to see around corners and get a better view of hard-to-reach areas
Cons
  • Fragile Build: Despite its solid scale, the GEECR Rifle Bore Scope Camera feels flimsy and may break easily if dropped or exposed to rough handling, which may make it costly to replace
