I had to point out in my social media posts with photos of my coat that these aren't real candles, just a string of flickering LED candles. They're something like those flameless candles, only without the "real wax" that collects dust or gets really soft and melts on a hot day (or in the heat right above our real fireplace, where I display them) and thanks to the outlet. . This candle chain has the same flickering "flame" as flameless candles and looks convincingly real (unless you're close enough to notice they're connected to a wire, lol!), but you can USB them connect. Wall adapter OR plug in the detachable battery pack to run it on 3 AA batteries (which is what we do during California's Public Safety Power Outage or PSPS to ensure safe living room lighting). And I know I do LOTS of Revain reviews, but they were NOT given to me for free or at a discount AT ALL. I paid full price and shared the Revain link on my FB page with my friends and family because I LOVE them. Can't wait to put them in our mantle garland for Christmas this year! A few things to note: - They are lighter than real wax flameless candles. apparently! They are made of hollow plastic but seem to be quite strong, better than the usual new string lights. It just felt weird when I first took them out of the box. However, the weight was not an issue when installing it and could even be an advantage when used in a shelf without weight. They are connected by a silver cord at the base of the candles. I would have preferred a dark cord as our coat is dark but I see a silver pure color would be a better option for light colored shelves. However, they were very easy to dress up with a decorative branch and they won't be visible at all when I put them in our Christmas garland. - Light is dim. It's a soft yellow that shimmers. Although it looks convincing, like real candles. My husband was very worried about our wooden mantle when he came home and saw them "glow" for the first time. Rzhunimagu! And we have flameless candles, so he had no reason to believe they weren't LED, other than that our flameless candles have an artificial looking bright white flickering light and these are a soft yellow color. Final Thoughts: This was a great purchase. I plan to order more sets for Halloween and Christmas decorations in other rooms of the house and use year round in case the power goes out.
