This case solves many problems at a great price. The case is strong enough to protect the iPad in everyday use, but is unlikely to withstand damage if dropped from a great height. In low falls, however, it offers ample protection. The iPad fits snugly and securely, and the case can be removed with a gentle push of the thumb if needed. The case has two different slots that can be used to support the device, allowing the iPad to be positioned at different angles for viewing, reading, typing, etc. The material on the outside of the case feels like leather - good enough for professional use. Settings -- tho This is a durable synthetic material that, unlike leather, is moisture and stain resistant. Openings in the case make all buttons and ports accessible. The side holding the iPad rotates to allow the user to choose their preferred iPad orientation (horizontal, vertical, preferred home button on the side). This is the second of these cases that I have purchased. I use my iPad day and night. Use it for work and then for reading, tv etc. The first case lasted almost 2 years despite almost constant use including my usual rough handling like shoving in briefcases, spilling things, opening and closing probably 10 times a day. , throwing it on the floor if I have an iPad for other uses, etc. Keeping track of the case isn't for me! It was still working perfectly when I had to replace it - took it off in a meeting to use my iPad for photos and left it on the floor next to my bag when I left it. Come on - at that price didn't bat an eyelid. In any case, I needed a new one because it was wearing out more on the outside than I prefer for field use. The new one actually seems a bit more stable than the first one, so it's ok. Wanted to share my experience so others can better understand what to expect.
