For the price, this is what appears to be a sturdy expanding file. It stands by itself and filing papers is easy. I can't really rate the durability since I just got it but it works perfectly for what I wanted. I used mine to store all the instruction booklets/warranty information that come with small electrics and other household items. I attached the receipt to the booklet and filed them alphabetically for easy reference.My only minor disappointment was that, in spite of information to the contrary, this file does NOT fit in a file cabinet if the rods for pentaflex hanging folders are installed. But since it stands by itself, it can tuck away on a bookshelf or deep desk drawer without folder rods. So easy to pick up and move around; nothing goes astray.
