Received my order for the reels very quickly and was pleased to find that they were exactly as pictured. Sometimes I break skeins of yarn into separate usable threads; I bought these spools to hold these threads so they don't get tangled. I was pleased to find that the large size of these bobbins is great for storing many yards of yarn as the skeins I sort are often over 100 yards long. As the product's name suggests, these spools are unfinished wood and you will notice a rougher texture in and around the very edge of the spool hole, but I haven't noticed any rough texture or chipping on the outside of the spool. may damage wrapped fabrics/wires/threads. I personally find that raw wood looks very nice compared to plastic or metal spools and they are a very nice addition to my creative space. The reels themselves are strong and will clearly last a long time, I am very happy to be able to put mine to good use and intend to buy more!
