Update 4: Connectivity has improved a lot but still works great. Many actual motion alerts are missed in the detection range while it continues to send alerts about swaying trees. For the last few weeks my front yard camera has been completely shutting down due to "low battery voltage" despite having an Arlo right next to it that is being charged by a solar panel at 100% charge. These cameras are not well suited to high traffic areas in winter, as they use 30% of their charge daily and only 10% of their charge in low sunlight. Update 3: Communication will be further improved. Motion detection is still blurry. Many traffic warnings in the traffic area are still not recognized. However, the face recognition AI is excellent. Upgrade from 2 to 3 stars. Update 2: Still useless. Almost 20% connection speed to the camera. Clicking on motion notifications almost never shows the video without exiting and restarting the app. The traffic warnings are terrible. Sometimes it sends warnings of wind blowing through the trees, and sometimes it misses people walking through the picture! Setting or editing motion zones is the most frustrating experience. Those who thought live view rendering was a good idea for a motion zone setting UI should really be ashamed of themselves. The screen is constantly trying to update itself as you set motion zones, creating buffering and random alerts popping up all over the place. Added some pictures to show what I experienced. It works if I restart the app or try again after a few minutes, so it's not a Wi-Fi issue. It doesn't make sense for a camera to send me notifications if an event/person/vehicle has moved while that camera is trying to connect. Why am I still keeping this camera? I have cameras from other companies in the same space but without AI and 2K capabilities, so I'm hoping it all turns out well in the end. Recognizing a person when it matters is good, pretty good. To update. Motion detection, resolution, spotlight, and AI are pretty good, but there are still too many issues offline. Adding motion zones disables motion detection entirely. Installed a camera in the front yard and one in the back yard for further testing. Beautiful construction, easy to use app, variable color headlights, built in solar panel is a great feature. Other than the above, it's absolute rubbish. I tested it in my office because there were bad reviews about it so far. I couldn't sit on the stairs and dump it in the yard all day. First, the app freezes when you try to update settings. Motion detection is hit and miss, usually one miss. Motion zones don't work at all and actually cause more motion detection problems. Sometimes when motion is detected the app freezes and doesn't seem to load either the recording or the live view. I didn't bother to restart the camera because it always turns back on after a few minutes. It's a pretty heavy camera, so for $200, it's a good weight for paper.
