So I bought this 20ft leash because I had a problem with my large dog that was running around the park and never came back to me. As much as I don't want her to stay in the open field forever, work and life just won't let it. In any case, this leash is NOT what you want to use for a walk around town. What I like to do is walk her on a 6 foot leash and then switch to this 20 foot leash once we enter the park. All in all, the product does just that. The grip is also soft and doesn't hurt my hand. Oh, and one more note: if your dog is minding his own business, make sure he doesn't have an accident on his leash (because it's so long). and will likely be on the ground when you need to pick it up).
