I have had the same Beltronics Radar Detector for several years and it still works great. I was surprised to learn that even newer radar detectors still use cables with a modular phone jack plugged into the box and a cigarette lighter plug on the other end. In my new car, the "cigarette lighter" socket is in the console between the front seats, not in the dash, which makes the original coiled cord too short. This cable is straight, long and as thin as a standard USB cable. Great article.
