This is my first Huion tablet and I have been using a Wacom Intuos 4 for many years. My Intuos 4 was showing its age and I wanted to see what Huion had to offer. This tablet has all the features I absolutely need (zoom in/out wheel, lots of buttons, preferred size, non-rechargeable pen) and the sensitivity works great. I couldn't find any reference to Huion's driver software, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it offers almost as much as Wacom. Pros: β’ Software almost Wacom comparable - sensitivity adjustment, tablet rotation (you can rotate it 180 if you're left-handed), button customization β’ Lightweight - the tablet weighs next to nothing, just like the pen. β’ Buttons - so many buttons! Soft buttons are also a great addition. β’ Sensitivity - I had to adjust the pen with a software driver, but the pressure areas were obvious and worked well. I'm definitely happy with this performance. β’ Wheel - zoom in/out very smoothly, if sometimes too sensitive. When you press the middle button, the label of what is "selected" simply appears at the bottom of the screen. (See image labeled Adjust Brush Size) β’ On/Off Light - I didn't even know it was there and it's so tiny I thought at first it was dust or paint. I appreciate it! β’ Surface feel - very smooth with little paper-like texture. β’ Feathers - a decent amount. I try not to paint too hard or wear them down so they serve me well. β’ It just works! Disadvantages: β’ Software - has limitations. You cannot adjust wheel settings. I barely saw the sign on the screen and whispered what choice I was on. I want to make it much darker or bigger. Wacom also offered "screen controls" with buttons, which I will miss. Huion doesn't have that option as far as I can see. The maximum settings you have are Keyboard Key Combinations, Mouse Button, Switch, and Shell Program, which is still a great feature. Luckily I have 12 + 16 customizable keys to work with and customize. β’ Indicator light β so small! Like the size of a pinhole! But that's not a big problem. β’ Soft keys. I spent a hell of a long time trying to use the soft keys before rotating the tablet 180Β°. When my pen moved to the soft key area, it didn't press the key, but instead moved the mouse to that area on the screen (as if the soft keys were the "active drawing area") and clicked on the screen - which was annoying . After rotation, the softbutton area was no longer the "active drawing area" and worked correctly and smoothly. β’ Wheel - Extremely sensitive, cannot be turned off. When my palm touches it or touches it lightly like reaching for a mouse, it activates and zooms in/out. Anyway, it's an adjustment. β’ light. As surprisingly light and portable as it is (I don't plan on carrying it around), its lightness has me concerned about its durability. Usually lighter electronics don't last long or are generally very fragile, but I'll try to upgrade if/when it fails. β’ Connector - You only have one connector and one USB part that plugs into the table. damn small. The theme here is fragility. I only worry about this because I had to drop my Intuos because BOTH ports eventually gave up. That means I had 2 ports - one broke after a few years (probably not fixable unless I wanted to pay $100) so I had to use the other one and that one broke a few years later too. I'm not rough with my electronics, but especially when they don't have special protective cases, things happen for 5+ years and bumps happen. It really bothers me because of that tiny little port and plug. Overall I like this tablet. I'm worried about how long it will last, but it's amazing value for now ($63.99 pre-tax - pre-order sale). At the moment I haven't found any serious, conspicuous hitting errors. While I have some cons I don't think it's fair to give it 4 stars as these cons are not faults of a broken product and a few missing features are to be expected for the price (Huion $63 vs Wacom $250 +). This product works inside and out and I am very satisfied.
