I use these fans when we have power outages here in Florida and I also use them on my bedside table when I have hot flashes at night. from the great air circulation. Works all night with no problems. It uses a single D battery and I can say that a single D battery works much better in these fans than those that use a double or triple A battery. This fan is very useful and has excellent battery life. They have a suction cup, but they won't stick to a vertical surface. Basically, they are good for not falling off when they are on the bedside table. Handy little fan, works well and I keep buying these because they're the best of all when you have a hurricane.
