I bought it for two reasons: to take it camping to make the camp bed more comfortable and to use it again at home. It worked great with a thin camping mattress. I slept better than ever while camping. Memory foam takes some getting used to as it's not easy to flip. But whatever position I was in, I felt very comfortable. We used the built in straps to wrap it back up to take it home, although they weren't designed for that. The cover is lovely and washes easily, although it didn't get dirty at all on the trip and doesn't seem to attract dirt which is a bonus, especially since someone threw away the plastic bag it came in. We were planning on reusing it. I plan to use this on the over-hard mattress we have on the guest bed and I imagine it will be just as useful as in the RV.
