Considering the price was over $30 and it was made by a reputable manufacturer in the USA I expected excellent quality. But the burrs have not been completely removed from the forging, and it has a rough black oxide finish rather than a chrome or nickel plating. The slip joint doesn't slide easily, making it difficult to adjust the size, and there are no channels to support your chosen size. Soft rubber sponges are pretty slippery and don't hold up well - they need to add some kind of texture or even a different rubber compound. On the plus side, the unusual grip curve works well for hard grip. I see that Vise-Grip is now making soft jaw pliers and I would look at those first.
