The kit is not quite the quality that I usually see from Metra or AI. The side protrusions didn't snap into the front frame the way I would have liked. Maybe it wouldn't matter for most setups, but I installed one of the large Chinese two din units and the floppy side made it difficult to build. If you are installing a Chinese 7" double din, you will need to cut off most of the front panel. These blocks are much larger than the standard blocks. I can say that the fit between frame and car was perfect. upwards and is attached like a standard bracket.
