selection of 3-way speakers is small. I chose them as a more powerful (and more expensive) alternative to ELAC Uni-Fi. At first I was concerned that the 2.5" midrange would seem unusually small and might not play loud, but that wasn't the case at all as the woofer sits quite high up. Having the smallest midrange on the market means too the physical advantage of having the sharpest transients and detail on the market and that's a sound worth exploring.I bought left, right and center channels. They were all very well packaged but at all had at least one of the thin plastic grille hinges broken. The center speaker requires a lot more power to play at the same volume as the left/right speakers. All three drivers are said to be aluminum, but the woofer looks and feels like Plastic. Maybe it's plastic-coated aluminum? I wouldn't change a thing about them. NHT chose a very niche configuration and handled it well enough to give the classic to earn status.
