Description of 🔈 NHT C Series C-1 Premium Home Theater 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker - Clean, High-Resolution Audio, Sealed Enclosure, Aluminum Drivers, Single, Glossy Black

The C-1 employs a 5. 25-inch polypropylene woofer housed in an acoustically inert BMC frame and a 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter. Packing big sound with great bass extension (70Hz) in a small case, the C-1 is only 9. 65 inches high by 5. 75 inches wide by 7. 5 inches deep. A terrific stand-alone music speaker for small rooms, the C-1 packs enough dynamic range for a surround system when used with the new NHT CS-10 subwoofer. Combine with other NHT C-Series components for an audiophile grade system for home theater. With a variety of mounting options, the C-1 can be placed on stands, shelves or wall mounted (with optional mount).

Space required for center channel speakers

I've had many pairs of HT speakers. I had NHT 3.3, it was phenomenal. I'm currently using the NHT C-2, which I think sounds the best in my small space. I bought the C-3 and found they were too good for my bedroom. The sonic signature was exactly the same as the C-2, so pairing them for home theater was no problem. However, in my room, the C-2 sounds better than the C-3. The soundstage is much wider and there is more air. I was surprised. You definitely don't need a subwoofer for music with the…

Audiophile Quality Speakers

Prior to purchasing the C-3 speakers, I discussed expectations with an NHT representative. He was open and everything he told me was true. His reviews gave me the confidence to buy and I'm so glad I did. The speakers are beautiful with a 7-ply piano lacquer finish. To me this is a full range speaker and I'm quite happy without the subwoofer. Detail, clarity and precision come to mind. It's hard to imagine a more accurate sounding speaker and at this price point it's a bargain. I've had a few…

Will never fall back on 2-way speakers

selection of 3-way speakers is small. I chose them as a more powerful (and more expensive) alternative to ELAC Uni-Fi. At first I was concerned that the 2.5" midrange would seem unusually small and might not play loud, but that wasn't the case at all as the woofer sits quite high up. Having the smallest midrange on the market means too the physical advantage of having the sharpest transients and detail on the market and that's a sound worth exploring.I bought left, right and center…

Great sound but the grilles are designed to break

I bought four NHT C Series speakers - two C3 and two C-LCR. All were bought second hand from Revain's warehouse. The first three were listed as "like new" and there was no mention of defective or missing parts in the description. However, upon arrival, the front grille on all three speakers was broken. The small plastic pins holding the grille were broken inside the speaker and the grille was not attached on one or both sides. The fourth speaker was rated "very good" and again there was no…

Top notch speaker. The value of the first bet.

I wanted to add great sounding speakers to my small living room (in addition to the speakers that are part of the home theater system). While I've never owned NHT speakers, my general impression is that they're well-regarded (although there are some unflattering reviews on this site that seem to be everywhere. I recommend ignoring them). So I ordered a pair. In my opinion they stand out: clear, full range and natural sound. Plus they look fantastic and the size (just over 46 pounds per speaker)

  • So far so good

Detail and performance for size

Update 6 months later: I just paired them with Rogue Audio Sphinx v2 and Chord Mojo and the result is great. These aren't "warm" speakers - they're open and detailed if you have room to breathe and the power to drive them. The Sphinx and Mojo combo is easy on the ears yet very detailed. With Sphinx's strong damping factor, the bass that comes out of these things is amazing and clean. I enjoy music at any volume and in any genre. It's sad to see a 2 star review here from someone who doesn't…

Great audiophile value for sale

Note I paid $268 for each new one. These are well detailed speakers that sound wonderful. They are intended for audiophile oriented listeners (a very wide range of people actually, but I'll say they're not for everyone). They're for the listener who wants very realistic sounding equipment, thinking about how the instruments actually sound in real life - what's good, what's bad. It's NOT warm, but it's not cold either, unless the recording itself is of poor quality. They are very neutral to the…

NHT C-3 Review - Center Speaker

I bought a pair of NHT C-3 bookshelf speakers for the amazing price of $536 plus tax, which is probably the best price I've seen. with new devices. The fit and finish are amazing, rivaling much more expensive speakers, and the cosmetic change from the rounded top and bottom of the earlier Classic Three makes for a simpler, more refined look. There are fingerprints on the surface, so you must wear cotton gloves to take the speakers out of the box. In terms of sound, the C-3 has everything you…
