Detail and performance for size

Update 6 months later: I just paired them with Rogue Audio Sphinx v2 and Chord Mojo and the result is great. These aren't "warm" speakers - they're open and detailed if you have room to breathe and the power to drive them. The Sphinx and Mojo combo is easy on the ears yet very detailed. With Sphinx's strong damping factor, the bass that comes out of these things is amazing and clean. I enjoy music at any volume and in any genre. It's sad to see a 2 star review here from someone who doesn't understand speaker performance and is annoyed by broken cosmetic items. These speakers don't make a bad system good, but they seem perfectly capable of getting better with every upgrade in the chain, which is a sign of well-made transparent material. First Review: I was happy with them from the start but now after two weeks and some intrusive tweaking behind me I finally understand the potential of these speakers and am happy to give them 5 stars. You are incredibly insightful. Turn on a bad source and you'll be disappointed with how they sound. Then switch to high quality lossless recording and you'll find they're capable of incredible clarity, depth and bass for their size. In other words, they don't seem to polish the music, they simply present it with amazing clarity. I had to play with a lot of positions to get them right (they didn't sound good more than 10 feet apart which was very distracting) but once set up they created a perfectly convincing phantom center and I felt I could see clearly where each tool was located. The sweet spot is amazing and they still manage to fill a large room with a clear sound that's pretty good from any position due to the wide dispersion.
