I use it where my cat uses her litter box, I've actually installed two of these in that spot and love the smell and it works great. It doesn't just mask the smell. It releases a pleasant apple/spice flavor that isn't overpowering. The problem is that it doesn't last very long. To take full advantage of that "beautiful and lingering smell" there is a little thing you have to turn on at the top of the device itself that lets out how "strong" you want the scent to come out, and that's it obviously the strongest setting. . To be honest that's the only way this thing works properly which is why I'm giving it the rating I gave it because it doesn't last very long. You will find yourself changing your oil frequently and to be honest it can be a little pricey.
