Review on Cable Matters 10 ft Long USB to USB Micro B Cable in Black - Enhanced Micro USB 3.0 Cable by Rob Allen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

15 " version does not work with wired recording - 10ft version works

I first ordered the 15" version of this cable for remote shooting between a Canon EOS 5D camera and my HP Specter Win10 laptop. I took the cable to a shoot and was disappointed to find that it just didn't sync, as these cables often do - the longer the cable, the more power is required to properly transfer data to the other end. It's possible to get longer cables, but you'll either need larger conductors or an AC adapter in addition to what the USB port can turn off. It sounds like it was plugged and unplugged multiple times as windows tried to connect and failed. Build quality is decent and the cable isn't too springy - it can be straightened out fairly easily if needed. The connectors are well made and there is a secondary strain relief too. If 10ft is enough, I'd recommend avoiding 15ft even if you're tempted to try. Those cables have to be 100% reliable or they'll drive you crazy and ruin your shoot when you just can't sync the damn camera and everyone's standing around waiting for you to get together!

Pros
