The ForLife Mug Brewer has been my favorite for many years. This one is about the same size and shape (it should work just as well with pints), but the finish is slightly different and the sheet metal used here is decidedly thinner than the ForLife. The tiny holes appear to be very similar to the ForLife holes. I have to wonder about the extra sealing lip on the underside of the lid. This is an additional valley to deal with when harvesting. If you fill your mug or glass via the perforated portion of the brewer and the pressure builds up under the lid while the tea is brewing, the pressure will either be released as a gas through the lid (which is now double sealed) or as a gas. Liquid on the sides of a cup or glass. Anyway, the rubber material of the new cap smells. I can't tell if our existing ForLife devices smelled when we received them, but this infusor will be returned to Revain unused.
