Need a power switch and watch out for puddles!

I have some problems with this "Burner".1. It's getting hot enough! Maybe too hot? It boils water normally. But I'm curious if it also gets hot enough to vaporize some of the more volatile impurities along with the 1?2. The pitcher needed to collect distilled water is complex. I read a lot of reviews where people said they had trouble with this, but I put it down to the ability. Not everybody has! BUT, I had the same problem. I made sure to align everything as intended, but after the pumping started I started to see a puddle forming under the block. It made a hell of a mess and I had to fiddle with the alignment while it was still running, leaving a puddle until the distillation process was complete. A few times during the process I checked to make sure it was still properly aligned. A mere touch of the pitcher was enough to make it tinkle again. You really need an on/off switch. Using the cord as the only means of disconnecting power is a hassle! Especially when it starts leaking all over the place!
