I've been scraping thin layers of ice cream off a pint container with either a steak knife or a teaspoon - so ANYTHING could be better. This spoon has an edge that cuts through even tightly packed ice cream to make perfect, smaller round ice cream balls that slide right out of the spoon and into the bowl. It was really unexpected that it worked so well - it's strong, there's a lot of leverage - and the ice looks very nice, even special if that makes sense - like it came from a store and not a freezer box. I love this ball!
