I've used these in-wall speakers for the front left and right channels, as well as the ceiling-mounted rear channel speakers. As a front channel speaker, sound quality is excellent, if a bit flat compared to bookshelf speakers. If you're looking to get the speakers out of the way, this is a good way to go without spending exorbitant sums. I sold the house that originally had these speakers installed. My current home cinema doesn't have enough space for return channels. It's an open floor plan and there just aren't any good spots to mount the rear speakers, so I chose them on the ceiling to give it a uncluttered look. They're not really designed for this purpose, but they get the job done. At least you can aim the tweeters for directional sound. In general, these speakers are very remarkable.
