5 stars are not enough for this transport box! No detail has been overlooked and this is the best dog backpack I have ever had. I was looking for a replacement after my old one broke. There are so many other features in this backpack that my old one didn't have. I like the side openings. My old backpack had an opening at the top and the dog had to be put in it. With this backpack, the dog can easily get in. The zipper on both sides and the back opens to allow the dog to fit in the bag. There are 2 smaller zippers on the front but they are not big enough for a pet to get into the bag. All zippers are double and each has a clip to keep the dog from opening and running away. The top of the bag has a strong handle so you can easily carry the bag with your dog in it. I love that you can open the bag and fold it completely for easy storage or carrying in a small car. There is a flap on the front that you can use to cover the dog when he's sleeping, or when the dog is awake you can roll up the flap so the entire front is an open mesh. The front and two sides of this backpack are made of open mesh, which allows for good air circulation. The back of the pack is complemented by a chest strap and waist strap for a secure fit of the pack. When you open the expandable part you can actually put the dog in the expandable part and in the bag as there is a divider that makes it into 2 separate areas. You can open the divider to create one large area that can accommodate multiple small dogs. This extension also snaps to the bottom of the backpack to keep it from moving when the dogs move. The entire bottom of the backpack is padded, even when folded, to keep your dog comfortable. There is also a collar strap to prevent your dog from moving around too much in the backpack. The backpack has two pockets. One is made of stretch mesh so multiple water bottles can easily fit inside, and the other is a low-profile Velcro pocket that you can use to prevent anything from falling out of the pack. This backpack also comes with a collapsible water bowl that easily fits into pockets. This backpack is the perfect size for small dogs. I have Chag who is 12 years old and blind in one eye. She can't keep up with my two younger dogs so she enjoys hiking and backpacking. She is very comfortable and comfortable in this new backpack. I absolutely recommend it!
