I actually bought this because I needed a waterproof blanket for myself and I was very skeptical at first. The waterproof part is very true. I poured a lot of water on him and he didn't get wet! This blanket actually looks like a regular soft blanket and you never know it's waterproof. The downsides are that it's like two separate blankets sewn together at the ends so they're far apart. Another downside is that there is a certain area where it isn't waterproof and that's where they decided to sew the paw onto the waterproof side of the blanket. When I ran the water test on various areas of the quilt, this was the only area where it leaked. Otherwise it exceeded my expectations. Definitely would buy another one
