Much better than "smart "

I can't express how pleased I was with them. All expensive wool "smart" hiking socks bought and returned. They are all completely unacceptable. I can't understand why every sock manufacturer decided that a tight elastic band at the top of the shin and calf was somehow necessary to keep the socks from falling off. That's ridiculous. It's not comfortable. It is not necessary. This is bad design! Please stop it. Here's a little test: If my feet are *WARMER* when I take your socks off, your socks will suck. That's what socks should be. Circulation is a good thing, I don't know how you can get confused about that. Throw it in with rubber bands, folks! And I have skinny ankles, not fat ones. I can't imagine what the thick-legged man must have suffered. That's why I'm so happy to find these socks. Almost 100% wool, comfortable, stretchy enough to hold the socks where you put them but no strap. Please stop stuffing the toes and heels with shims that are interfering with the fit of my boots. I want socks to do their job and my boots (and insoles, if any) to fit my foot. Socks are not orthotics and should not be. Yes, simple, comfortable wool socks.
