The goggles go really well with my black lab mix and the adjustable strap keeps them securely in place. She's used to it and will wear it for more than an hour at a time. They were a godsend and her optometrist has forbidden her to be outside between 10am and 4pm, but with these UV goggles on, she can go outside anytime as long as she wears glasses. We received the first pair, she patted them with her paw trying to remove them and it left a few scratches on the UV coating. However, she got used to it and started wearing them well, up to about 45 minutes. Then, after about 10 days, the caretaker once left her alone for two hours, and the dog had had enough. She tried to remove them by rubbing the lenses on the wire fence. That pretty much destroyed the UV protection. I bought another pair and we limit her time to about an hour and she wears them very well. I think she understands that they really protect her eyes and that she feels more comfortable in them. It seems to be a common complaint about dog goggles, regardless of brand, that the protective coating on the lenses scratches easily. I recommend buying two pairs. The first pair will be the sacrifice, which will be used to train the dog, watch him closely, and very gradually increase the wearing time. Once your dog gets used to it, you can use a second pair to protect your eyes from the sun. They will not remain in their original form forever. If your dog digs under a hedge, the lens may get a small scratch or two, but with proper training for your dog, the goggles can last quite a while. It would be nice if the company could stick a film on the lens. like the plastic you put on a new TV screen to keep the lenses scratch-resistant until your dog gets used to it, so you don't have to buy two pairs.
