Review on Sony SP600N Wireless Noise Cancelling Sports Earbuds, Black (WI-SP600N/B) by Danielle Jones

Not what I expected.

I was looking for headphones to replace my Bose Sound Sport. I've had these for 3 years and the buttons were starting to break. I decided to try these Sony sports headphones mainly for their noise canceling performance. You have several design issues. The attraction is the noise canceling function. I read other reviews and knew before buying that the noise canceling is not 100%. First, they are uncomfortable to wear. I've tried all the ear tips that come with them and they irritate either the top of the ear or the middle of the ear. One problem I haven't encountered in a while is that a medium sized bet usually works. The regulator is too big and the wire too stiff. When I turn my head, the smallest side comes out of my ear. That because of problem 1 is going to be painful. It would be better if the wire were a bit longer and the controller lower so that it doesn't hang around your ear but rests somewhere on your shoulder. Or if the controls were simply fewer. There are noise canceling headphones out there, so I doubt they need that much control. Management is on the wrong side. it's left, not right. The last 3 headphones I've had with built in controls have always been on the right side. This doesn't seem like such a big deal, but as I want to stress, things you come into contact with every day should have reasonably consistent interfaces. The noise canceling feature doesn't seem to work for me at all. My test consisted of walking down a street with moderate traffic while listening to a podcast. That was the scenario I wanted this feature for, I don't expect headphones to fully pass the test. But I expect this feature to reduce the rumble of road noise to a muffled rumble, or at least enough for me to be able to hear the podcast. I tried it with these headphones and couldn't tell any difference between having the noise canceling on and turning it off completely.
