Description of Universal Keystone Punch Down Tool For Cat6, Cat5E, RJ11 And RJ12 Jacks By IMBAPrice
Works with Cat.5E, Cat.6, and RJ11/12 Keystone Jacks. Best for iMBAPrice Keystone Jacks. Reliable tool for all keystone jack installations. **Punchdown Tool NOT included** Only the iMBAPrice Punchdown Stand is included
I was going to install some jacks and thought it would be nice to use a stand to hold them in place while punching the wires, after browsing around awhile I came this stand, I saw several reviews that were great so I purchased one. After opening it I was ready to get to work, I put in the rj45 punch down jack and found it was not fitting correctly, I tried several positions and could not get it to stay in the stand flat while punching down the wire. So I came back here and was reading up on it…
Pros
Works well. I use it on the job all the time. No issues. build quality is just right.
This review is for the Keystone Punch Down Stand. The Punch Down Stand makes everything just a little more stable and easier to work with. I've used the Stand for about 16 Cat 6 keystones - since keystones (Cat 5e/Cat 6) are standard & interchangeable this works for both. It comes with instructions. Some of the reviews said no instructions, but it comes with very simple instructions. It works with 4 models of Jacks in the 3 holes. I used Cat 6 and you simply pop the jack in position B and it…
Pros
It did not fit 100% my Keystone jacks but it did the job.
Cons
could be better, placing the keystone in the unit was not that easy and it hangs, but i would buy again.
I first tried to build keystones by holding them in my palm, it creates quite a balancing act holding them as you coordinate the wires into the correct slot while using the punch down tool. Not too mention the possibility of punching down on your palm and cutting yourself. This tool helped a great deal by holding the keystones in their place, protecting my palm and increasing my productivity tremendously. It comes with three compartments (A,B,C) which confused me at first, since there was no…
Pros
Great transaction, good price. Very useful piece of equipment.
Cons
The tool may not be able to accommodate certain types of connectors or wall plates
It doesn't perfectly fit the brand of keystone I've been using, but it's such a useful tool, I couldn't recommend it more highly for small or large projects involving your punch down tool.
Pros
Helps a ton with punch down. Safer and protects surfaces.
Cons
The punch down slots may become misaligned over time, leading to poor connections
For years I have been trying to hold the jack, the wire, and the punch down tool - good if you have three hands but most people don't.I found this little gem to be the best little helper for this type of work. It hold things in one spot so the punch down activity can happen effortlessly. Only thing I had to modify was, the stand was a bit light so I attached it to a pocket sized block of wood so now it does not slide around when I am using it. The order arrived a week ahead of schedule and was…
Pros
Thanks! Works wonderfully, as expected.
Cons
The punch down mechanism may get stuck or jammed, requiring the user to manually fix it
I recently installed network cabling to my new home while under construction. This tool was just what I need to finish off my project. Using this made my network installation easy. I used this with CAT6 jacks with no issues This is a great product for any small job and for the price I could not find cheaper with better reviews.
Pros
Great tool and it saves my fingers, floor, or any furniture I need to use to prop the CAT5e jack.
Cons
The tool may not be user-friendly for those with mobility or dexterity issues
tired of tearing your hands up trying to hold those darn keystones and use a punchdown tool at the same time. This is the bee's knees solution. Fast shipping, thanks
Pros
Makes punching down terminations much easier on the RJ-45 jacks.
Cons
The punch down tool may produce sparks during use, potentially causing damage or injury
Does not work with Cat6 jacks from Panduit. Instruction sheet shows three options: A for KJ18 keystone jack, B for KJ8 & KJ3 keystone jack, and C for KJ19 (Australia) jack.
Pros
Where was this thousands of punches ago?Very cool tool.
Cons
The tool may not be compatible with certain types of network cables, connectors, and wall plates
Reviews seem for a variety of products sold by Amamax. This review is for the Keystone Punch Down Stand. I've used the Stand for about 15 Cat 6 keystones (Monoprice.com type) - since keystones (whether Cat 5e, Cat 6, F-type) are standard & interchangeable size, it shouldn't matter which is the manufacturer. For Cat 6, use the middle pattern hole -- insert keystone with front towards the top clip that holds it in place (the clip holding down the keystone) - - insert cable through the tunnel from…
Pros
Found it handy when trying to assemble a Leviton Cat-5e jack along with a TRENDnet Punch Down Tool.
This is probably one of the best pieces of plastic that I've bought in a long time! I wish that I knew this thing existed a long time ago because it would have prevented a lot of injuries and frustration with punch down CATx cables. This little device lets you hold the CATx keystone in your hand firmly and then lets you apply the proper amount of pressure to do a reliable punch down on the keystone. There have been many times before I had this where the punch down tool has slipped and connected…
Pros
Pura vida
Cons
The punch down tool may produce loud noises during use, which could be annoying to some users
I used to use the tooless (tool less?) keystone jacks, but unfortunately, none of the face plates where I work right now will accept them. So it's either replace every face plate or buy the jacks that fit, which don't come in tooless. I've done many jobs without this innocuous little thing, but I'll never do another one without it. The jacks fit snugly in place and don't move. You can see the side of the jack and the color codes. Its small size is easy to carry around, and if your eyes are as…
Pros
Works very good.
Cons
The tool may not be as durable as some other models on the market, leading to potentially expensive repairs or replacements
What can I say, its less than 6 bucks. Most different brands of jacks don't fit in exactly right, but you can make it work with just about any kind of jack. Have tried it with Leviton, Ortronics, Signamax, ComScope & Dynacom. Dynacom & AllenTel (one's in the photos), seem to fit the best. I don't use it all the time but in a tight spot or for a massive modular patch panel punch down, I can see this coming in handy.
Pros
works very well........keeps the punch down jacks in place and stable while terminating ends.
Cons
The tool may not be compatible with all types of jacks, leading to frustration for some users
Works well. Would be nice if it had more weight and or suction cups of some sort. The problem is it can slip side to side if you don’t hold it with your other hand. It works well and saves you from blisters . . .
Pros
Works for me.
Cons
The punch down tool may cause wear and tear on users' hands if it is used frequently over time
I did 15 keystones. I tried all of the different slots to put the keystone. The block is made of sturdy material, it's just designed terribly. Whenever I did a punch down, the block either flew up or away in reaction to the punch. Since I'm new to this, I thought maybe it's my punch down technique so I kept trying. I tried low-impact punch, the wire would not punch into the keystone and the keystone would fall out of the block. I tried high-impact punch it made a good punch but the block with…
Pros
Very good and handy unit to have when using on the punch down jack CAT5/6.
Cons
The tool may not be as durable as some other models on the market, leading to potentially expensive repairs or replacements
I don't know who would need two of these, but the 2nd one is a bonus. Holds the termination in the right place and kept me from probably cutting myself of something else when terminating the bare wire with the sharp punch.
Pros
works great
Cons
The punch down tool may produce inconsistent results if not used at the correct angle or pressure
When I learned how to punch down jacks in the early 90's, we used to cup them in our hands to keep them steady, resulting in dozens of cuts, and LOTS of blood being spilled. These things are GREAT.
Pros
Works really well, must for inserting wires.
Cons
The tool may produce a clicking or popping sound during use, which some users may find annoying
