This is an honest, unpaid review.

After two uses - once to boil water after washing (before first use, as instructed in the instructions) and once to warm up noodle soup - only about 20 minutes of use - inside the pot "Stainless Steel" is heavily discolored near the plug where I suspect the heating element is located. This is unacceptable, having literally once been used to heat soup. This isn't due to mineral deposits in the water, which naturally build up over time, and since this was my first time using it, I kept the liquid level between the minimum and maximum lines because I wasn't sure how much space it would take up cooking . It's the discoloration near the heating element that makes me concerned that this could potentially pose a fire hazard. Although I would never have used such a device if I hadn't been present the entire time, this pot appears to have cost a tiny fraction of the $22 we paid for it, so I was extra vigilant. Also, when washing this jug you will need to be careful not to get the plug area and power button wet as it is all one piece - the liner is not removable. I could do it, but it's very inconvenient. It's a very inexpensive pot so I wasn't expecting miracles, but we either got a defective pot or it's just poorly constructed. In any case, we will send it back.
