My son hates pillows. i was the same kid They both slept on their stomachs, I constantly felt like the pillow was in my mouth and I couldn't breathe. Until I was a teenager I used a perfectly flat broken pillow. I was looking for a really good quality flat pillow for him that didn't "smell weird". That helped. She doesn't have a strange smell. The very slight smell of latex quickly dissipated and didn't bother him. It's soft but firm. It's very flat. This gives his head and neck extra support but doesn't bloat or suffocate at all. I recently discovered on a car trip that this is the perfect pillow to roll up and tuck between your head and shoulder for sleeping in your car! It's weird to say it's soft but firm, but it's like the lovely texture of a marshmallow. This is the first time I've napped in the car without waking up with a stiff neck.
