So I bought these to add some good quality HDMI cables to my system. Possibly improve image quality. I have chocolate Audioquest cables that I bought from a friend for $30 at best. (Befriend the Best Buy rep) I figured I just needed another HDMI cable for my Blueray player (Panasonic dp-ub420p-k) and replaced the chocolate cable I had from my receiver (compatible with Yamaha rx-v6a 8k), instead of the chocolate cable. Remember Chocolate is rated at 18GB, it should be 48GB. I took the chocolate cable from my receiver to the TV and put one in its place. then one for blueray. The Xbox 1 input on the receiver suddenly stopped working. There is no signal from the Xbox which has a regular chocolate cable to the receiver. On the Xbox, the home screen appears, but as soon as you try to scroll through the main menu, it goes black. Tried it several times and the same result. Also tried purple hdmi xbox to receiver to tv, thinking cables are incompatible, no luck. Reconnect the Audioquest chocolate cable to your receiver, TV, Xbox and Bam! It works again. 🤔 So I tried watching Xbox with a new HDMI that wouldn't drop the receiver and it worked, but in doing so I found that HDMI doesn't support what chocolate cables do. I have found that if you put the receiver in HDMI 2 mode the signal will pass but HDR10 and Dolby will be lost from the Xbox or receiver. Strange. But since everything works fine with chocolate cables (certified), I'll stick with the best cables, which all have bells and whistles, although not as fast in bandwidth. Try it yourself, it sent a signal to the TV but didn't throw the receiver trying to do Dolby Atmos 7.1, Vision and HDR10. That makes sense, if the cable says 8k you probably want it to be future proof. These will be returned.
