Review on Smartwool Men's PhD Outdoor Medium Crew Socks by Tyler Markham

I live in the Andes and hike a lot so I wanted to do a test to find out which wool socks are the best at the best price. I bought three different brands of wool socks in three different price ranges to see if it was worth paying more. Ultimate Socks Merino Wool Midweight Hiker Crew Sock ($9.99), CloudLine Merino Wool Crew Hiking and Trekking Socks - Medium Cushion ($19.99), and Men's SmartWool PhD Outdoor Medium Crew ($23.95). The Ultimate Socks were a "cheap" test and I'd say they failed, very tight in the calves. The Cloudline product was fantastic! Very comfortable and warm. But my favorite socks out of the three were the SmartWool. They are the most expensive but definitely worth the money. Super comfortable, good support and warm. I tested these socks in tough conditions and they exceeded all expectations. I would definitely buy them again. I wear Cloudline or SmartWool socks every day. So price definitely plays a role in this case. If you are looking for good, comfortable, warm and durable wool socks, I recommend Cloudline or SmartWool.
