Review on Acer KA220HQ 21.5 inch Viewable Monitor: 1920x1080P, 60Hz, Tilt Adjustment, HD Display by Jeremiah Camacho

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great monitor for the price. Needs some improvement. There is no audio output.

I received this monitor to replace an old TV screen that I received from a family member to replace a Viewsonic monitor that had one of its capacitors explode mid-game. Right off the bat it had everything I was looking for but not everything I wanted. My old TV had some color issues that messed up the picture. Some days the screen was slightly yellow, other days the screen deviated by a few pixels and a black band appeared squeezing the screen. But there will always be the same problem. All colors are lighter. And the white will bleed into other colors, try looking at a white grid with black lines where the white spills over to the back and blocks you from seeing the grid. I'm a graphic designer so that doesn't fit! Some assembly is required right out of the box, not that it's a lot of assembly, just plug in the stand and attach the computer to the stand. When I plugged this bad boy in, I noticed something not listed in the instructions, even the audio output. This surprised me when the instructions indicated that there is an audio out port on the back of the monitor. Okay, as long as I can get the picture I can hook up my consoles to the TV and put them somewhere else. When I turned on this monitor, I noticed that the screen is very bright. So I did my best to correct the coloring. It's still a little light, but the colors shown are the colors shown. I see what should be on the screen and I don't have the same problem. I even play Monster Hunter World on this screen and everything is going fine.

Pros
  • Good product! Exactly as described.
Cons
  • Doesn't mix well with another monitor in the tree
