I travel a lot in the wild, focusing on wildlife photography and of course landscape photography from the side. Either way, the overall weight can get pretty heavy on those rides, but things just got a little lighter with this new compact carbon fiber tripod from AOKA! A7III with a fairly heavy (pound) lens no problem. For me it's perfect. On most trips I don't need anything particularly tall or elevated, so this tripod works. I can also put it in my backpack. Many photographers asked for a tripod and I think they bought it right after I showed them. I love that I can also put my phone on top and use it for a video while hiking or even a video of me bouldering with my iPhone on the climbing wall (I use it a lot for that too). I don't actually use the FULL extension that much, mostly because it's windy everywhere and it can get a little unbalanced, and I don't really have external hooks to act as a down-pulling force. But I'm sure you can easily do it yourself. Highly recommended for ultralight photographers/tourists who want to capture a variety of subjects. I think it's perfect for that kind of travelling, blogging or climbing videos.
