I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

I see no reason to scold this camera for its low rate of fire, lack of bracketing and other goodies. Still, this is an amateur DSLR of the lower price segment with all its inherent features.

And yes, I think that for its class the camera is great. A sort of indestructible workhorse that you can carry everywhere with you. Yes, with my requests, I would like to take an old professional camera, I really like to shoot exclusively in M. mode, I want a more rational arrangement of controls and a little more speed for reporting.

But overall, for the price, I definitely recommend it. If you are an amateur and do not want to bother - take this camera, you simply will not notice the difference between it and any other. In order to understand what DSLRs are in general, it is also suitable.

Pros

In fact, I liked absolutely everything. 1) Good assembly without squeaks and backlash. The rubber bands sit like a glove for me personally. 2) The camera visited different cities and wild conditions, at sea, in the studio and many more places. No fatal problems and glitches were found. 3) Everything that the whale lens could not give me was more than compensated by the 50mm 1.8 fix 4) Light weight and small size. 5) Standard size matrix like all crops. I’ll tell you a secret (and let marketers hang themselves), this means that in unhurried studio conditions with good optics on the d3100 you can get a picture no worse than on the d300s or d7100. 6) Price.

Cons

In fact, real trifles, but I consider it necessary to identify them. 1) I did not like the weak correction of vision in the eyepiece. With my minus 2, shooting without glasses is not very convenient. 2) The built-in screen has a low resolution, and this sometimes really prevents you from immediately evaluating the footage, even if you look at it with an approximation. It is the screen that I can thank for a decent percentage of overexposure of photos in manual mode. Although for those who will use the camera in the car - this is not a problem at all. 3) For a year, I never learned how to blindly find the aperture control button. Sometimes this needs to be done very quickly, and IMHO, the system is made in a stupid way. A little missing is the second wheel that prof. cameras. But this is already a nitpick, you can’t criticize an amateur camera for the absence of prof. functions.
